SHIFT Reflection Journal Class 01

Before I joined the program, I only knew that I wanted to have a stable and successful business, but I had no idea of what kind of business it’ll be. I just wanted to own a business that will both help improve the qualities and equality of communities, as well as gaining profits. Also, I barely knew what entrepreneurship is. From Hanz Kurdi’s session, I learned that in order for a business to succeed, it needs to be what the owner is really passionate about and can keep him or her up all night thinking. More importantly, before entrepreneurs can reach their goals, they need to be able to deal with failures. I found out the answer for how to both help the community and gain profits when Troy talked about his experiences as well. Although he is selling courses that cost 7000 baht, which are unaffordable for some people, he could still continue to help the community in other ways. This idea really helps me when I ideate my projects with Chor.Nat. My first two projects, Freshness Machine and Local Connecter, were initiated when I thought about the combination of technology and local community, which then resulted in the limitations of my creativity. However, as I chatted about my interests with Chor.Nat, I sparked some new ideas. I discovered that I am a people-person since I like to talk or discuss with people and I am very affable. Consequently, the idea of the Video Channel Community suddenly popped up in my head. After that, I talked to her about the vibes, music, and Disney. The other three ideas of mine, AI Art Exhibition, AI Ambience Creator System, and Dream Center, then came across my mind. This first class and the assignments allow me to think in different aspects and open up my narrow-mindedness. Besides, I know that my project still has many voids but I am more than eager to learn and enhance it until I achieve my goal.
