We launched our group with about 60 members at an Open Networking event and had a nice turn out to the first event. I was a little bit stressed trying to pull it together but at least I had a plan of action to follow thanks to the checklists and tools provided by Authentic Networker. I made some new connections at the event and tried to make sure all the attendees made connections and exchanged contact information. I think one of the mail appeals of the Authentic Networker events is that there is a code that creates an environment that feels more authentic. Our networking code of honor
· Have a genuine conversation with someone before pitching your business.
· Help other business owners in the room make connections if you can.
· Let others know your ideal client, so they can help you with connections.
· Don’t add anyone to your email list without permission.
· Follow up with the people you meet.
· Ask questions, learn more about others, and have fun!

There was a real sense of community being built.
