How ChainAction movement was born and why it is needed.

ChainAction movement was born in two weeks, but it already existed in our minds for a long time.

Two weeks before November 11.28 -30, 2018 Exhibition & Conference on Smart Technology for Sustainable Development & Procurement we had a meeting about sponsoring and participating in the event as well as inviting other companies to join.

There was no brand name, logo or any social media account. We did not know what blockchain companies are worth inviting. However, we already knew what we wanted and needed to make an impact.

Crypto bear market had many casualties. Falling prices killed off many scammy or unsustainable ICOs and excitement about the crypto industry as a whole was gone. But back then, we had no doubt that blockchain technology is here to stay and it could change the world for the better. STS&P 2018 Conference in Seoul was a great place to start.

STS&P Exhibition &Conference is an annual event

Meeting after meeting we established our brand name. ChainAction movement. From blockChain whitepaper to Action. From one good idea to another. Spreading ideas, actions and progress from one area to another. From the first of UN Global goal of “No Poverty” to the 17th of “Partnerships for the goals”.

One week to go till the conference.

Names of potential blockchain companies that have potential to change one or more of the 17 UN global goals started to appear. TEMCO, TrustVerse, Lympo, Precium, SEED etc. Most of them ended up in the conference. Some of them decided that it was not the time. Yet.

Emails. Calls. Designing logo, decorations, Twitter and Instragram posts. Likes and shares. All previously disconnected parts come into one. ChainAction movement’s ideas get consolidated in our heads. We know what we are doing it and why we need it.

The D-Day is here. Or should I say ChainAction day is here. Going to our booth and a sudden realization! We worked so hard to invite great blockchain partners and prepare everything for them that we forgot to prepare some activities in our own booth. A game called “Twist” to attract people? Great, it represents action.

Every action starts as an idea

10 o’clock. It started. But, not so many people came. A light disappointment was felt. However, soon a VIP delegation made up of diplomats from Zambia, Kenya and other countries together with the UN representatives came to learn about ChainAction movement. “What is blockchain to you?” We start. The interest in the crowd was palpable. After an exchange of business cards with potential partners, we felt better. People love the idea of ChainAction movement!

Next day. The highlight of the event was made by Ambassador of Kenya Mohamed Gello, Former President of KOICA Yeong-Mok Michael Kim, Founder of ChainAction Jaemo Kim, Huobi Korea strategy team member of directors Chae Hun, Blockchain association chairperson Jeaon Hajin, and TrustVerse co-founder abd representative Jeong Giuk who shared their thoughts, hopes and goals for what blockchain can do to achieve 17 UN Global Goals. The crowd was small, but it is the beginning and not the end. It will get bigger next year. We have no doubts about it.

In this short time we achieved a lot. We reached the audience that is not very well familiar with the blockchain industry, made contacts with the UN officials, introduced ChainAction movement beyond Korean borders, and created a community of ChainActivist who still wear ChainAction shirt!

We have big goals. Kenya, North Korea, Ukraine, UNOPS, World Economic Forum names appear in those goals. I feel we can make those goals a reality. We have believers and will work hard to make ChainAction movement big.
